5 things Successful People Never Say

Your words are tied to your mind. This in turn determines your level of productivity because your actions are a product of your thoughts. You must understand that the things you say count no matter how innocuous. What you become stems from your mindset, and it may seem trivial but negative words set up roadblocks for you unknowingly, trailing you off your path to success.

Having a positive outlook on life is a process. Your thoughts are positive, you speak positive, act positive and birth positivity. There are some things you should never say if you want to stay on track. Your decisions are highly influenced by your speech. You want to be successful? You want Forbes to know your name? Study the lives of people that attained this height and you’ll notice that that you’ll never hear them say any of this five phrases;

1. It’s impossible

Great achievers never see impossibilities, they proffer solutions. Never say “You can’t do it” or “It’s too difficult”. It may look unattainable now but it’s just a matter of time before that dream becomes a reality with hard work.

200 years ago, nobody could have ever thought it possible to pick up a phone and instantly message someone a million miles apart. It took great dreamers to catch the vision and see it possible. They had to go through tough processes, back lashing and a lot of rejection but the seeds they sewed are being harvested now. A lot of times, laziness makes us see our dreams as too farfetched. Look for people in that line that have gone ahead of you and seek mentorship. You can read their books, listen to their podcast and go for their talk shows. It would be even better if you’re able to work alongside with them physically.

Write that dream down. Read it to yourself every day. Let it be the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning and the last you see before going to sleep. Don’t stop reading books, keep doing research. Break that vision down and in no time you’ll start seeing it come to life.

Your approach to problems determines a lot. Understand that almost nothing in life is impossible. Look at that problem tactfully and bring up a profound solution. This way you’re seen as a problem solver and you make yourself of immeasurable value in your organization.

Draw out plans on how to achieve your goals. It’s not just enough to write down your dreams, work out sustainable plans to attain this height. Set challenges for yourself. Work hard with the right resources and in no time you’ll reach for the stars.

2. I will do it later

It’s essential that you commit yourself to work if you want to be successful, there’s no room for procrastination. Successful people prioritize and are exceptional at time management. They do not put off work till later, they do it now. Loafing is a habit of undetermined people. Never think you’re young and have plenty of time because the truth is, you don’t. You have more energy now and it is easier for you to get things done while you’re young.

You do not have time. One minute, you feel as though all the time in the world is at your feet, and the next you discover that you’re far behind where you hoped you’ll be. Great people are always conscious of time which motivates them to achieve more because they feel there’s a lot to do within a short time. They are also steered away from feelings of satisfaction and keep trying to achieve more. When you keep pushing things forward, they pile up and you become so overwhelmed with work that you end up doing a very bad job. This certainly causes you to be unproductive and can drag you down the success ladder.

Procrastination is one habit you need to trash if you ever want to be successful. Don’t do it later, do it now.

3. I can do it on my own

No man came to the world by jumping down the sky. In case you think you don’t need anybody remember that you came to the world through a person. We all move through stages in life by the help of those around us. The success walk is no different than this. You need people to guide you through and eliminate heavy obstacles from your path. No man is an island. Every single one of us needs the right association to thrive to success. At the same time, do not wait on others to start your plans or help you reach your goals. People are just there to guide you and make it easier. Do not heed to discouragements from the wrong people. Pick the right association.

Teamwork makes the dream work. It is vital to surround yourself with people of like minds who can help you reach your goals. Your team should be built of hardworking people who are success driven and are always available to brainstorm with you, review your work, give constructive criticism and proffer solutions to make things better. Attempting to achieve everything on your own will only slow you down and hurt your business and mind cause you’ll have no time to rest. Being able to work together with others is the hall mark of a good leader. You’re more likely to climb up your career ladder when you have people pushing you. When success finally comes, don’t claim it all to yourself, learn to give those that worked with you credit. Appreciation is a very important key. This way, they’re more likely to work with you on your next projects and you get to sustain great relationships. Also, a business that can properly network and cooperate with competitors is more likely to prosper. Learn to meet people and communicate effectively. Attend conferences, seminars and make notable contacts.

Don’t place yourself on a too high pedestal that you feel you can do everything on your own. You’re not a superhero, you need people too.

4. I’m not good enough

There’s no one without a talent. We all have something in us we can build on. If you keep living with the fear of failure, it will overshadow you so well that you don’t attempt to do anything and you actually end up a failure. It’s okay to have occasional doubts about your abilities cause even successful people are not spared from this. It’s what you do with your doubt that sets you apart. When doubt starts creeping in, do you bury yourself in this fear and let it determine who you are? Or do you confront and face your fears like a champion, rising above it?

Make good use of your fear. Use that doubt to develop yourself into an invaluable potential. Take note of your strength and weaknesses, build on your strength and work on your weaknesses. Don’t let them override you, instead use it to set yourself apart from the crowd. Never let people discourage you. Your past failures don’t determine your future success. Analyze your plans to identify those mistakes you made that can be worked on. Remember that if you never attempt to attain your dreams because of the fear of failure, then you’ve already failed.

5. I give up

Jeff Bezos once launched the unsuccessful Amazon fire phone. Famous inventor, Thomas Edison tried a thousand times before getting results. Check through the lives of successful people, they all had their times of challenges. What sets them apart is the fact that they didn’t let hell loose and give up when those obstacles arose, instead, they looked beyond those challenges and worked their way around it.

You might have just stepped out to start that business after multiple motivations and now the business is not thriving as much as you want it too or going on as smoothly. Don’t use this medium to let fear get at you and pack all up. Increase your efforts and develop your products more, find advertising outlets if you have to, improve yourself, do anything but give up. People at the top have also stumbled on their ride to success. Jeff Bezos eventually developed other tech products and the highly successful Echo. He’s now one of the top influential men in the world. All these were only possible because he didn’t throw in the towel and give up just when his career was about to hit the top. If you want to be successful, you must learn resilience and determination. Whoever said it was easy? Learn to see your failure as an opportunity to grow and progress.

To be successful, you need to build the right vocabulary. Stop speaking negativity, letting it influence your mindset and your outlook to life. Do not let your words undermine your chances at greatness. Maintain this attitude! Speak success, be success!
